Wounded Warrior Project

Sad, but true, more than 1,700 Soldiers have died in Iraq. Even more startling is the number of Soldiers treated from the Iraq war. Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., has treated more than 4,200 patients.

So what's a good way to show you honor our wounded troops? There is a great organization called Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) that helps injured soldiers. They provide backpacks containing items for wounded Soldiers who arrive at hospitals in America with nothing but the clothes on their backs, among other valuable services.

This is the least one can do to show you care about those who served our Nation. Above is pictured Heath Calhoun who recently participated in a fundraiser for WWP. He is a double amputee from the Iraq war who will be completing the entire Soldier Ride National Tour in a hand propelled bicycle. If this brave man can achieve this goal to help his fellow comrades, then we can certainly donate a few dollars to this worthwhile cause!

The strength and stamina of our Military never ceases to amaze me. This is just one of hundreds of Vets who have recovered from serious injuries, but have turned their setbacks into victory for themselves and others. These are the men and women I am so proud of to call fellow Americans and I honor for the bravery and sacrifice.

So, a good way to express you patriotism is to give a few dollars to WWP to show you honor and care for the men and women who have given to you at a high price to them!

Patriotic Quote
The willingness with which our young people are likely to serve in any war no matter how justified, shall be directly proportional as to how they perceive the veterans of earlier wars were treated and appreciated by their nation.
~President George Washington

WWP is one of the finest Organizations going and a very worthwhile cause to donate to. It is so true that many of these wounded heroes arrive at our military and VA hospitals with nothing more then the clothes on their backs. Then there is the cost to their families to come and see them, hotel rooms etc. Their families have sacraficed so much. Another excellent way to become a PATRIOT!!!!!!!!!!!!
