JOSH HANCOCK BIDDING A FOND FAREWELL

As my loyal readers know, I am a huge baseball fan.  I keep track of the standings, and I am a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan.  Have been, will be, for all of my life.  However, my husband is from St. Louis.   Thus, I have become a Cardinals fan.  Several weeks ago, the St. Louis Cardinals lost a young man, in the prime of his life and career, to a horrible car accident.  Josh Hancock died instantly as his SUV slammed into a flatbed tow-truck.

It just so happens that my son (who has great talent and been invited to baseball camps all over the country) is on our local team that is the Cardinals.  The instant I learned about this talented young man and his death, I wept.  His career was just beginning and I thought of his family.  How horrible to loose such a young soul.

I acted immediately.  I drew a poster with Mr. Hancock's name and his jersey number.  I  had the children on my son's team hold it up for a photo and each child signed it.   I have contacted every local newspaper and am trying to contact the St. Louis Cardinals so I can send the poster and photo to his parents to show our respect.

From the 11-12 Cardinals in Ilinois, to Josh Hancock of the St. Louis Cardinals.   Blessings to all the St. Louis Cardinals team and all those who loved and admired this young man.

That's a wonderful and thoughtful thing to do, Pamela. I hope this picture gets the publicity it deserves. What a shame for that young man to be killed in his prime. May he rest in peace.
